OK. How do we create a web page?

Good. I didn't lose you while jumping from one web page to the other.

To learn how to create web pages, we must understand what Web pages are. A Web page is a document that you write in a special format called HTML. HTML is short for Hyper-Text Markup Language.

You can see a web page in two ways. One way is with your web browser (Internet Explorer). The other way is with your text editor. A web browser will show you the web page in a pretty way, with fancy graphics that you put in the page. A text editor will show you the HTML code that tells your web browser how to display the web page.

The text editor you have is called Pfe32. If you don't remember how to use it, then you should review Pfe32.

To create web pages, you need to know how to code in HTML. In other words, you must be able to write in the HTML language. So let's take a look at the text file for a simple web page. If you want to see what the actual web page looks like, click HERE, but don't forget to return to this page.

Now don't be alarmed. I was confused too when I first saw it, and I live in the World Wide Web. So I asked Rayzer what it all meant. But first, I climbed up onto his shoulder where I could get a good view of the computer screen.

"Well there's lots going on in there." Rayzer said. While he pointed to the screen, I swiped some peanuts from his shirt pocket. (That's another advantage of sitting on his shoulder. I can look at what he is doing and eat his snacks. Alexa, that's my real boss, says I've been getting fat since I started visiting Rayzer and you guys and gals at Riner Elementary. Better me than Rayzer I always say.)

"I think I better explain about HTML code in several steps." Rayzer said. He absent-mindedly reached for a peanut. I had to really scurry to keep ahead of him. I had one of my legs, well actually it's also my hand, still in his pocket.

These are the steps Rayzer explained to me:
What a HTML tag is

The HTML structure

Formatting the words

How to link or connect web pages

How to add lists

How to add tables
